the pros are saying... |
| "I
downloaded the course and found it to be much more informative
than I expected one of these courses to be! You lay it out very
clearly and the musical ideas are all super cool, especially
the II - V - I bebop phrases. I also liked your solos over "All
the Things You Are" and the other tunes, too. In fact,
all your solos have good, solid construction and a very swinging
feel. I think this course will be very helpful to anyone that's
looking to play over changes. Playing through this course will
give the serious student of the instrument a more linear way
to play up and down the neck, and in turn expand their range
on the guitar. I can tell a LOT of work went into this project....All
the best!" - Carl Verheyen,
LA studio guitarist |

| "Chris
- your program is seriously good! It's well thought out and
easy to use. It's bound to appeal to players who can play but
want to learn jazz. I'm totally impressed with the intelligence
and organization of this. You are also a totally natural teacher
. Well done mate! " - Tony Smith, guitarist
with Roy Ayers. |
|
| "Chris
- this looks great and the formatting, visual presentation and
overall organization of the material is excellent! You look
great on camera and seem very comfortable and natural in your
delivery. I think this will be a very popular series and I wish
you a lot of success with it!" - Frank Potenza,
Professor, Chair studio/jazz guitar program, USC |

| What
the students are saying... |
| Dear
Chris - Won't give you a running commentary but the way you
build this up is brilliant! Within 10 minutes of seeing 'chord
of G and here are the chords that relate to this key' suddenly
a massive penny dropped through the ceiling and I stopped at
that point, got out a backing track to a tune in G and was off!
So bloody obvious really, I know this stuff but no one has made
it accessible. I can see all those places to play without having
to remember anything! I guess now if I highlight the target
tones 3,5,7,9 in each position it gets better! I think it is
amazing that I don't just want to jump to learning licks - this
first bit has opened up the fret board like I never imagined.
Next time the boys meet up for a rehearsal it's gonna be awesome.
Got up at 5 today, can't play till the kids are up! Many thanks

| "Hi
Chris, Your JGVM 1 course is fantastic! I am one of those guitarists
that learned to play guitar when I was a little boy many years
ago. But for various reasons I never had any real progress in
my playing. Too much recycling of knowledge, I guess. I've bought
some books from Amazon, but that didn't help much. JGVM 1 made
a huge difference. I have made much more progress in the last
two weeks with JGVM 1 than the previous ten years. The blend
of video and high quality written material is just awesome!
The amount of information is overwhelming, in the best sense
of the word. I have things to work on for months. The guitar
is once again my friend. Thank you very much for the JGVM 1.
I am really looking forward to volume 2, 3 and beyond. Keep
up the good work! Best regards", Bjorn Johansen |

| "I
really like the fact that you shared your personal philosophies
with us regarding what makes music sound good. This makes you
someone I connect with and believe in or trust, you know? I
use JGVM along with other materials that I have and it ties
in nicely with the entire package for me. I enjoyed your cd
that you sent along as well ( it's in my car cd player right
now actually) Hands on demo's are always welcome from my perspective
and you articulate your messages very well. So all in all, I
must tell you that I like the program and am happy with the
content, Chris. Thank You. Warmest regards" Steve

| "I
like this format a lot and especially the ability to watch the
DVD on my TV set simultaneously with the book. I like the vocabulary
part which helps me improve my techniques and the improvisations
over standard progressions" - Joel Jakubowicz |

| "This
version is pretty awesome....Your program is an outstanding
learning tool and I will use it as often as possible!"
- Skip Bauchman |
|
| "The
comping class is great! The recording sound is exellent, the
layout of the class is exellent, the pdf booklet for print is
handy, and all in all it's a professionally designed tool (like
all your work). In conjunction with the rest of your work, you
offer a very thorough total package of recordings, backing tracks,
music sheets and study material/classes. I am very pleased with
your work in general, and have used it for years already. Thanks
a lot!" - Rolv Magne |
