To me the JC 120 is very clear, detailed amp. It won't hide what your guitar sounds like- if your guitar sucks that amp will show it.

For solo gigs, I sit. I use a dreadnaught and a classical. For ensembles, I tend to stand. Pretty much any armless chair works for me.
