hey...
I posted a country-tune some time ago. Yesterday we recorded vocals on that tune. The singer is a good friend of mine. I really like her voice.
Hope you like it
tell me what you think...

Again - good song, the first thought during intro - here should Knopfler start to sing
there were 2 things which I missed:
- some guitar licks in between vocal lines
- some chop mando-like chords in second half (just a thought)
It is very nice tune, great singing and guitar playing;) |

Jazzy,
Damn the vocals added a whole lot to that song, not that it wasn't really good already. I was wondering, did you write the lyrics as well or did she, the lyrics are really good as well? later |

Thanks Alfonso. Glad you liked it. Yeah, I also liked the version with vocals on it. She wrote the lyrics. I`ve tried to write lyrics, but I think it`s really hard.
I haven`t recorded vocals myself before, so it`s a new world to me doing eq and mixing the vocals. This is just a quick mix. I think the vocal is a bit to compressed. I`ll try to mix it again another day.
These days I`m listening a lot to the Emmylou Harris albums which Daniel Lanois has produced. "Wreckingball" and "Red dirt girl." Check them out, I`m sure you`ll like them
thanks again for listening man |

Jake, thanks man I sent you an request on the myspace page. Nice tunes
Yagyu, I know what you mean. It`s the same version as the one I sent you, but only with vocals. I don`t have my amp at home right now, so I can`t record any strat-fills yet.
thanks for listening and for your suggestions

hey I'm gonna deny your request, we're gonna try to add people once we have more songs up _________________ "Inspiration may be a form of superconsciousness, or perhaps of subconciousness - I wouldn't know. But I am sure that it is the antithesis of self-consciousness." - Aaron Copland |

Wow. What a great voice. That's a mighty fine piece you got there. I reckon you could sell a lot of copies.
I have to disagree with the Strat licks comments though. I don't think you should distract the listener with guitar licks. The voice and the space is beautiful. Or if you are going to, keep them very subtle.
mmmm, good old opinions, just like bums, everbody's got what.
So that's my bum on the subject.

Thanks Steve It`s just a demo-recording for fun. Maybe we`ll start a band eventually. I`ve written some tunes in this style before you see.
I`ve also thought about adding strat-licks or not. And I`ve decided not to actually. I also think her voice is very nice, so I`ll leave it the way it is. It`s important focusing on the vocal here.
