jazzerchick,
I read the IAJE site quite a bit but I'm from California and my funds are limted to almost none and if you heard me play guitar you'd probably think oh this dude is still in the laughing stage of playing jazz guitar. Laughing It's gonna be interesting to see who else is going, by the way are you playing there?, I know about your seven string Monstrosity and the caliber of players you've played music with, at this point I can only dream. Have a good time and keep us posted on what goes on there, who plays etc., unless it's privilaged information. Incidentally here's a very good article from their site, there is tons of good information on that site and it's one of the best organizations involved in the jazz world so if any of you players can support it in any way please feel free, buy a shirt, books or CD, you can't go wrong. peace

Plans have changed and I won't get to go this year either, But it's got to be the best jazz conference ever. You just get to see everybody in the biz there.
Workshops, discussion groups, concerts from morning till 2am every day!
Well worth the money and time off. Birelli was there last year and I think
Jim Hall will be there this year along with loads of other greats. I think next
year it's in Torronto again. It was there a few years ago and I got to hear
the Rob McConnell Tentette, one of the best groups I've ever heard, and
Russell Malone w/ Christian McBride and Benny Green.
Sometimes it's in Long Beach so you Cal. guys can go.
If anyone goes, please take notes and give us a report.
