Okay Folks,

Officially, my first anniversary of being your administrator as come and gone (hurray for me..I survived )

I feel it appropriate to provide you the opportunity to review how the forums have progressed and my performance in keeping house. Especially you senior members that were here when I came on board.

First and foremost, please be honest, your vote is basically anonymous but if you would like to leave comments, about anything publicly, please feel free. If you would like to send them personally you can PM me or email me at [email protected].

I always look to make things 'better'. So if you have suggests, fire away!

Classy joint, open 24 hours, great entertainment, comfortable seating, no riffraff yet no dress code and no cover but the service is a little slow. I've been here six months and no sign of my waitress yet.

I'm new but this place seems a lot better run than a lot of forums I frequent.
One thing I think could really benifit the community: A shoutbox
I'm not sure how possible this is on phpBB, any thoughts?

There's a shoutbox on another forum I'm on. It's an instant message board that appears in the left margin.

No, instant message boards are a little different. You could probably use one for a chatroom, but it's mainly for very short messages across the forum from one individual to another, at least on the one from my hometown that I read. I don't use the things, so I may be the wrong one to take this up.

I see as well, and the chatroom can be used for private interaction as well. I most certainly know I could write into the phpBB system something like this. The only problem being is it worth the level of effort?

phpBB works quite well but honestly isn't written paraticularly well and every time they release an update, it wipes out any customization often making custom modification more of a headache than it's worth.

And realistically when it's so easy to just click on someones name and send them a PM where they will get a notification on their next page request in addition to the chatroom we already have, not so sure the level of effort would be justified.
