Piano player by trade. Play blues/rock style guitar, too. Picked up a Washburn HB15 last year, liked it. Started goofing around with the ol' I VI II V (Rhythm changes) comping. Starting to get more serious, mosly for fun. Play in a bar band on weekends. Just bought an Aria FA-71 (love it). Someday I'll probably get the Eastman.

I like to play music. I guess that makes me a musican.

Influences: '50s & '60s avant garde, Miles, Coltrane, Parker, McLaughlin, Sonny Sharrock, '70s fusion, Bebop, Swing/Big Band, Berklee Real Book stuff, Zappa, etc..........

My gear:

Aria FA-71
Washburn HB15
'94 Parker Fly Deluxe (best solid body guitar on the planet)
Frankenstrat
'65 Gretsch Corvette (set up for slide)
Yamaha electric classical
Couple of crap Rogue dreadnoughts for leaving on the couch.
MIM Jazz Bass

lots of pedals

'66 BF Bassman in a 1x12 combo w/ a 1x12 extension cab (play da blues)
'68 SF Bassman w/ 2 4x10 cabs (small stack=loud for out doors)
Traynor YCV50 Blue w/ ext cab (tone to the bone)
Fender Princeton 112 (love it for ss - very clean - my jazz guitar amp)
Vox AD30VT (great for recording and rehearsals)

Alesis QS7
Casio PX300
Korg CX3
Roland XP-30
PA system

Steinway upright

other stuff like family, house, cars, a cat and a day job to pay for it all.....

Welcome, bno! Do you play mostly piano on your gigs or both piano
and guitar?

Mostly keyboards. I'm focusing on jazz guitar just to broaden my horizons. I can play jazz piano but not as well as a real jazz piano player. I'm mostly a honky tonk boogie woogie funk blues type keyboards rather than a straight up jazz. I used to be able to run through changes in from the Real Book. I'm working my way back there.
