Hello,

I want to learn to play jazz but have very little practice time. I had a bunch of books and had organized a practice regime and was making good progress. But I no longer have time to organize my time and plan ahead. I'll be able to play maybe an hour a day, sometimes 90 minutes. I don't know enough about jazz to know where to put my priorities when time is limited.

I'd like to be able to sit down and follow a plan that will let me improve my playing while spending the smallest amount of time organizing. Just a roadmap I can follow now that will let me gradually improve and make progress until my life settles down a bit and can devote more time to guitar.

Would the PWYH 2.0 course combined with a Real Book and Berklee method (for reading) give me that sort of a road map?

Thanks,

Reefs

The thing about the Play What You Hear course is that you can get out of it exactly what you put in. If you have a half an hour to practice every day, provided it's focused, you will see improvements in your playing relative to that time spent practicing. Similarly, if you put 2 or three hours a day in, you will see a more rapid improvement. The secret is to know exactly what to practice and commit yourself to the time you can afford to put in.

I'm not that familiar with the Berklee method you mention but I'm sure it is excellent. Yes, that and a real book would be the perfect compliment to the PWYH course.

Chris
PS I've just released PWYH version 2.2 as of 9/29/05
