hi every one. several months ago I posted regarding what I thought was trigger finger, it was'nt htat but a injury called mallet finger. which is the extensor tendons in the last joint of the finger are detatced and the result is you cant straighten the finger. so for the last three months its been in a splint.I've learned to make a lot of three finger chords or just try to make them sound good. its been interesting, its proabably changed my playing more than i know, and of course appreicate having all my digits.and I will have thm all after march 15. I cant wait to try all the new chords I want to try . though its not even close to the same I have a vague idea of how some one like django would have to adapt and how the hidicap itself would inform the style .. later then Bob

Did you have some surgery or just a splint? I wonder how that
can re-attatch?
I'm glad you will be able to play again and hope you will never
injure it again. Which finger?

hi. jazzerchick, no surgury, the orthopedist called the last joint no mans land if they operate out there it seldom works its the pinkie on the left hand . whre a lot of the color of the chords comes from. just a splint ,Its a bit of a mystery to me but I was told that if caught soon enough after the injury, and splinted for 6 weeks it will reattach, i got 12 weeks but it is working and of course its worth the wait . bob
