Hello everyone! Doing a lot of research on jazz music lately to reinvigorate my playing. We all need a little new information to get the fire back in us again. I'm also working on a site to help my students, and anyone else. Check it out and provide any feedback. I have zero ego so send me any criticism or comments.

Thanks and look forward to chatting it up with you all!

nixshell, Welcome to the forum. I checked out your site. I looks to me
like a pretty good basic beginner's site.I have a couple of suggestions if
it's ok. I think you might be simplifying a little too much by saying
they only have to learn major scales. Maybe you could say they could
get started by learning major scales, adding that they should next learn
minor scales, and give an explanation of what they are for future reference.
I know you are trying to keep it very simple and you've given good info.
But I think they should at least know that minor scales exist.
Also, I don't remember seeing about key sigs. Maybe you mentioned it, if
not, I think you should.
The last thing is, when you use the Roman #s, you should clarify between
major and minor. I learned them like I IV V (capitol #s ) for major and
ii iii vi ( small #s ) for minor, and maybe for dim- vii dim .
So: I ii iii IV V vi vii dim I for the scale harmonization. And keep the
#s consistent for maj and min. I noticed that sometime you weren't clear on that.

Just a few suggestions. Glad to have you join the forum.
