May I suggest one of those great sounding old Lexicon rack-mount verbs and delays. They can usually be had on e-Bay for a song. I bought one of the old PCM-41 rack units for $46 and change including shipping. I don't know if I would use it on a recording, but it's a great live verb/delay.
Peace.

I love the sound of the amp, so I'll probably stick with it. I didn't think of eBay. I will give it a shot. What about the digital reverbs? Any experience with those?

| That new Boss RV-5 pedal seems to be pretty popular and has got 6 reverb types including a spring reverb modelled on the Fender Twin's reverb...theyre not cheap though (over $200) but really convenient. I may need to get a separate reverb unit too as the Polytone I bought off e-bay arrived with a dead reverb... |

Get in touch with the Polytone people quoting model and serial # and ask them to send to you a circuit diagram (schematic) then a reasonably competent electronics guy should be able to replace the the broken parts.
Depending the age of the amp you may have difficulty in finding the actual components but you can substitute modern chips etc. or even program modern components to function in the circuit. (This is a bit advanced). Maybe PT could provide the components?
There may be a foot pedal you can get as well. to turn on the reverb.
I suggest you try the snail mail or call as Polytone don't seem to be wired into the digital age.

I played Polytones for a long time. The one I had I got in the early eighties. The amp had a problem with the overdrive and I had a tough time getting it fixed though Polytone. It was an awesome amp otherwise. I wish I still had it.
