Fellow enthusiasts,

Can someone recommend to me a great guitar repair/restoration shop in the Wash. DC (or No. VA) area, please?

I think I've noted that at least a few of you are located somewhere near me. . .

TIA!

It's been so long since I've know of a place I honestly have forgotten. I do my own work (and builds) so I never need anyone. Confused

You could give http://www.metroguitar.com a try but this isn't a recommendation, just an option. Neutral

Hmm, Arlington! Not bad. I drive in to Arlington for work. Worth a look, at least.

Thanks!

I use the Guitar Shop on 18th street near Dupont Circle for set ups, inspections of new instruments, and things like installing new pickups. So far, no complaints. The repair guy only comes in on Saturday mornings, which is a pain.

The guitars on display in the store are usually nothing special, but they actually have an extensive inventory of vintage instruments. So don't be put off by the modest surroundings. Likewise, some of the sales guys aren't very knowledgable. But the owner is, so you can always turn to him if you have any trouble.

Good luck.

Cool, thanks, ingen'. I haven't committed yet, but I do have some work that should be done to an old GB-10.
