Oh, great! All that just to find out it's a tongue-in-cheek post.
Um, yeah, brilliant! |

That was rather sad really.
Kind of like the time I was in college, and the teacher asked a percussion student to clap a bar of 7...
"One-Two-Three-Four-Five-Six-Sev-En"
Each syllable was accompanied by a clap... |

It's been gettign some attention around the internet - watching more of the videos, it's just intense that this guy thinks he's an "expert" ! _________________ "Inspiration may be a form of superconsciousness, or perhaps of subconciousness - I wouldn't know. The page pops up but the videos are black--no audio, no video. The sharp criticism must've caused the guy to pull them, or something. Anybody else getting this when they try to pull them up?
Time is such a bear of a problem for some folks. The biggest nightmare is _no swing_. Some people, especially coming out of a rock or a classical background, play savagely even eighths...no matter what.
I try to get people to listen to early jazz with a blue feel, especially Armstrong, to cure this. Armstrong had a swing to his rhythm that was deep and wide. Getting people to clap out the rhythm to Armstrong tunes can help. _________________ Soul Jazz & Blues |

hey Bjorn
yeah I haven't been here as much lately either.
I've been teaching a whole lot, non stop, but playing has been inconsistent because of hand issues. My issues seem to be getting better in the big picture, but I've had a lot of set backs and I'd say in the past year I've only gotten a solid three months of practicing in. But once things get better I'm dying to play more jazz with people around here, which I've been doing a bit.

| It's sad that these people have any influence on young players. |

Uhhh, hand issues
Besides my own orquestre, I play bass in a salsa quartet. and for that I got myself a six-string.....
I love it, but my left hand hate it....hehehe.....
Allthough, its gettin better .....
I have been set back in studying also, but I dont feel any lack of technique though.....maybe on speed.
But at the same time im gettin older so thats less important...
And as long as I can keep my crew of highly professional musicians, including a norwegian jazzpianist, danish jazzprice winners on saxes, M.I in L.A educated drummer and bassplayer and a brazilian percussionist in my brazilian band, to play rehershalls every week besides playing gigs, I dont bother at all.....
So, everything well I suppose
Sorry for the late response...............

Hey Mango.
what you quoted isn´t the problem actually, hehe.
What I ment was, that as long as my hand issues has´nt got that serrious that im not able to keep my own orquestre together, it really dont bother me so much.
However, I would love to go back to practise many hours per day, but then, I would´nt have the time anyway
Later.....
