Happy Holidays to all. For those who may have an interest in this esoteric subject, here is a season celebratory gift from me and from my wife, Joyce, who asked me to thank those that wished her well during her latest surgery. Here is the downloadable book that I've been working at for the past few weeks, "The Design of Vacuum Tube Amplifiers and Related Topics":

Old-timers on the forum will recognize some portions of the text as posts that I "tried out" here to get reader response and feedback. This work is no scholarly composition and it's far from being complete but far enough along to allow reading, hopefully by those without previous electronic background. (This will be the "baseline" version and will be identified with revision letters from now on, when I change anything.)
Best Wishes,
Randy and Joyce
P.S. If you spot errors, please feel free to let me know by PM. |

Well, Happy Xmas, all. Have had a day of peace with family and friends, difficult to ask for more; but in terms of music-based gifts, not a bad haul.
Mark Levine's "Jazz Theory" book
A set of Thomastik George Benson strings
Joni Mitchell's "Shadows and Light" DVD, featuring Metheny, Pastorius, Brecker, Lays, ALias, what a backing band.
As always Mrs. M hits the spot with prezzies!! _________________ “It's like an act of murder; you play with intent to commit something" - Duke Ellington |

| I've removed the book from the Adobe website for revision - about forty more pages have been added since I posted the draft on Christmas Eve. New chapters include amplifier testing and trouble-shooting strategies, cabinet building and modifying a commercial chassis for personal amplifier designs. The thing keeps growing but I'm not bored with it yet. Still looking for beta testers for the software (spreadsheet) parts of the design procedure. PM me if you're interested in evaluating what I've written so far. |
