i actually played two gigs....an hr of solo gtr at an art gallery, then later at another venue i played bass for the debut gig of Django's Tiger.. a gypsy swing trio.

it was our first and last gig of the decade!

it was a perfect first gig for a new band w only three rehearsels as we were playing for a "swing dance" w an instructor showing folks the moves as we supplied snippets of music at a more forgiving tempo for the first hr. then we were turned loose to actually play for the next hr.

Sounds like fun gigs! Hope you have lots of gigs for your new band in the new year.

I played two also. First one was 1 hr with acoustic trio -G,B,Sax- at a nursing home. Musician friend on the road had us go play for a friend of his
who just had a stroke- conga player.
Then a country club private party, just cocktails and dinner, no dancing.
Only 7-10, didn't even have to play Auld Lang Syne. Sweet!

I played a solo gig on new years eve , just two hours, in a small wine bar. the first solo gig in six years, A little fear and trepidation, but I settled in and did well . I am finding that doing that has improved my overall playing a lot , i played the same place last night and really got into it ,I thought it would be a good idea to stretch out my boundaries, and it is paying off big . it forces me to do it all and come up with new approaches and ideas. the timing is just right , thanks for new years
