I'm considering authoring and porting some guitar player related softwares to phones.

The question is if you guys actually use phones that could readily handle such software.

This will help me conclude if this is a worthy effort or a waste of time.

So if you wouldn't mind....

Yeah, I can do that now and hadn't thought of doing so, they're just PDF's. Would guess it's kind of hard to read?

iPhone

I've got some great guitar software on my phone, Chordmaster, GuitarToolkit, Scale Wizard.

I have a few backing tracks on there for practicing. I made some in Garage Band, others in Band-in-a-box. I saw a solo performer, in a Seattle mall, using an iPod plugged into his sound system for backing tracks. It was kind of corny, but it worked fine.

I purchased IGOG so I could build drum tracks, but it hasn't worked out yet.

I use Amazon Kindle for iPhone to read books. It's ok for reading. I always have a book with me with no extra luggage - very convenient.

I carry all my music with me.

Pandora.

Shazam < so cool.

Yeh, my recently departed bassplayer had that. Me struggling to keep a massive folder on my stand, him with his iphone. Dang, he got the better of me there.

Mind you, with my eyesight................ Embarassed

Plus, he had one app on there that "hears" a tune that you play into it - then searches through a database and tells you what it is. I was amazed by that one.

i don't have anything, but 3 guys in my band have iPhones if that helps.

BTW, one of them came to practice with an app that is a synth of cat meowing sounds. By the end of practice all 3 had it. It really is a good thing I don't carry a gun sometimes.
