Teletodd: Looks like no one is going to leap right in here so I'll do what I can. I have played several Eastman guitars and thought them quite good but the Jim Hall Sadowsky is one of the very best I've ever played. I do a lot of solo gigs, big band stuff and loud jazz combo stuff. I've had it just about a year now and can't say just how much I love this guitar. It had just the sound I was looking for the first time I plugged it in and it is my favorite. My other guitars are a Gibson L4CES, a Gibson Howard Roberts Fusion. I had a 2005 ES-175 but sold it because I did not like it.
The reason I like the sound. It's a straight jazz guitar sound, warm and rich but with a nice zing. It's a sound that does what it's told through about any amp. Can't say anough good about it.
Hope that helps. Good luck.
Boy, this forum has really quieted down, hasn't it? _________________ Chordspinner

| Sunflower, no they`re not sold separately. I asked Roger Sadowsky a while back. I think the pickup was custom designed by DiMarzio. But if I remember correct I think he uses the Dimarzio 36th Anniversary pickup in his new archtop model. |

hehe, I've put in site blockers so I stop wasting so much time on the `net! Otherwise I'd be making plenty of noise. _________________ "Inspiration may be a form of superconsciousness, or perhaps of subconciousness - I wouldn't know. Whew! Thank goodness. I thought you'd all converted to other types of music. _________________ Chordspinner
