And in the UK lets not forget John Parichelli, who I heard the other night with Andy Shepherd. Excellent.

Just a thought...

Kenny Burrell produces the masterpiece "Midnight Blue" and Van Morrison "leans heavily" on it to produce "Moondance". Surprised

Kenny Dorham comes up with the standard "Blue Bossa" and Gary Moore is "inspired" to produce "Parisienne Walkways". Shocked

So if you're a jazz guy named Kenny.......

And you compose a tune with "Blue" in the title....

Better watch yo' ass, 'cos one day some Irish dude is gonna rob you blind. Laughing

As I say, just a thought on a quiet Friday afternoon......

Charlie Parker was pretty good at this type of thing. In fact very good at this type of thing.

Can't believe it. First, Birelli Lagrene is Italian.

Noe, Charlie Parker was Irish? Oh my ?????

The world's gone mad, I tell you, mad.

Yes I always remember Bird joining my Dad for a couple of choruses of Danny Boy when he had been on the Guinness.

You're thinking of that very hot Indian dish, Biriani Lagreenchili. Embarassed

Caleb

'Twas Creekwriter who originally suggested Birelli is Italian - I just tried to create a bit of humour with that little misinformation and Steve's tieing in Charlie Parker's borrowing of tunes to my mischievous little inference about Irishmen nicking jazz tunes with "Blue" in the title from jazzmen named Kenny.

No, I don't really think Bird was Irish, either.

Phew. Somehow having to explain things like that kind of kills the whole thing, really.

Think I'm going to have to do subtitles next time. Vipes - help me out here, fella.
