Currently I'm working with "A child is born" by Thad Jones.
Any suggestions on Christmas tunes?

| If it's not too much of a cliche for what you're doing, Mel Torme's ballad, The Christmas Song, is tops in my book. |

| Prompted by a thread at another forum, I'm doing a little chord-melody arrangement of Have Yourself .... Almost ready to record it. |

All of those are such nice tunes. There are so many great tunes for the
Christmas season.
One of my favs is "I wonder as I wander"
Also check out "I heard the bells on Christmas day" Makes a nice jazz waltz
and isn't overdone.
Looking forward to that chord melody, M. |

| Also, while not a "Christmas song" per se, Moonlight in Vermont is "evocative" of the season -- at least in the northern hemisphere -- and particularly if you're working with a singer. |

I guess I will play whatever the director of the big band selects. However, playing outdoors at this time of year, even in Southern California is not so fun. . . the guitar always goes out of tune. . .

blue Christmas (bossa nova)
bring a torch, jeannette, isabella
deck the hall
have yourself a merry little Christmas
i saw three ships
jingle bells
o Christmas tree
santa claus is comin' to town (bossa nova)
silent night
winter wonderland
we three kings
