Hi all,

I am starting home recording since a while, this is my setup :

- M AUDIO USB FAST TRACK sound card
- Ableton Live Elite multi-track recording sotfware

I made first testings via direct plugin of the guitar into the usb fast-track, which gives a clean & decent signal. thereaftaer i just added in the mix a good reverb, a decent EQ and soft compressor.

this already gives pretty good results.

the only thing missing is the real sensation of the amp speaker,

the next step would be to use an amp simulator, i have tried many of all available freewares but did not find any of them really bringing added value.

i wonder if some of you guys are using such amp simulator plugin and can recommend some ?

thanks, Eric

Try this one:

studiodevil.com

Its very very good, probably one of the best (free or commercial) and its FREE.

Also Revalver2 is very good (better amps than GR2 and equal or superior to AT2) and much less than the competition. Around 150 and you can purchase it with great discounts, even 50% if you are student. Try the demo.

I have just purchased Revalver2 and I have recorded one of the best jazz guitar in years. Maybe I will post it later.

I have GR2 and its not very good emulating amps (and I mean clean and semi gain sounds with REAL dinamics and organic tone).

AT2 is good but not the best with clean and semi sounds.

Good luck.
