THAT'S IT? I JUST GOT HERE AND I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT ONE OF THE GREAT GIANTS OF THE AXE RATES ONE DAMN POST! I saw him many times and he was as distinctive, original, and MUSICAL as a guitarist can be. He was a great MUSICIAN first and a GUITARIST second..

Im blown away buy his guitar in "The Poll Winners"... also when he teams up with Grappelli in "Limehouse Blues"
I draw the line at the xylophone solos in "Barney Kessel & friends"...

If you haven't heard Barney with the Great Guitars, that's Charlie Byrd and Herb Ellis then you've got alot to listen to, these guys together were phenomenal, and that's putting it mildly... listen and learn...I know some guys are gonna call it elavator music, no, this is jazz guitar sonny. The recordings were done on the Concord label... also, if you get a chance listen to Chet Atkins and Les Paul/// Chester and Lester...
No passion, no life!!!
