|
|
I personally have used every guitar picks I can get my hands on during my 25 years of playing.
I find that as my technique evolves over the years, my pick preference changes as well.
Currently, I'm totally getting it with a Dunlop Primetone 5mm. I like them thick! I find that I can play more relax and fast stuff are more effortless.
Please contribute your own thoughts. _________________ www.myspace.com/tungle |

There's another recent discussion about this topic in the Guitars & Gizmos section. I've used Dunlop Jazz III's for more years that I can remember. I'm not one to change too often. They feel just right in my hand.

i used the Jazz III for a good 7 to 8 years. But then it became apparent to me that it's too small and I have to exert a lot more force, plus I could never control it as well as a larger pick.
It's a highly personal thing, each his own on the size and thickness. _________________ www.myspace.com/tungle |

I am still using the 4mm Charles Dugain acetate picks. I have moved up to a larger pick from the small, mandolin/jazz sizes. I like the distribution of the pressure across the fingers better. For rhythm chording it gets a much better sound.
I have been playing with fingers, a la Joe Pass, a LOT more lately. This is a return for me to earlier habits. _________________ Soul Jazz & Blues |

Dugain tapers and bevels them at the point, but they are seriously fat, otherwise. Great picks. The acetate imparts good tone, too. Plastic picks and tortex create a "ping," IMO. _________________ Soul Jazz & Blues |
