Enjoy Jazzerchick!!

If you are interested, I have been trying to write out the immortal John Coltrane's solo arranged with fingerings for guitar. So far I'm only through the 1st chorus (what do I have....5 or 6 more to go Smile ). I'm quite sure I'll never play this up to tempo in this lifetime Cool ! Let me know if you have any suggestions on modifications to the fingerings.

Thanks!

Andy

Nice job you´re doing, its a good solo to transcribe....
But only 5 or 6 remaining..??
I transcribed that one at my second Conservatory year, and I think you have atleast 10 or 11 choruses to nail, and 2 more after the pianosolo (I think I remember).... Wink

But its cool you´re writing fingerings out too, thats gonna help many I guess.
I just wrote it in standard notation, but still a great deal of work...

Later.........

Bjørn.

Thanks Bjorn! In listening back, you are correct there are more choruses than I anticipated. I'll try and do at least one or two per week and post for anyone who is interested.

Thanks Andy, I like to work on such studies during my lunch hour. Looks like fun. Several years ago I took private lessons with Joe Diorio and he did a book on Giant Steps. Have you seen it?

Surf's up!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Andy! I really love this song and i've got the chart and have just tried keeping up, comping over the changes. Its alot of fun but damn hard to get a nice solo over. I've only been studying for a few years so by the time i finish school and go to the Conservatorium on Music and do this song, i'll be set!
