Just thought I would pass along this "heads-up" for those of you thinking about getting XM (Actually there is really little to think about - XM Rules!)

The specials below are in addition to the everyday 24 hour commercial free jazz plus.

Jazz Appreciation Month

April is Jazz Appreciation Month. Celebrate on XM with a host of specials that pay tribute to Jazz while raising the awareness of this living art form. Jazz Appreciation Month also coincides with the April birthdays of Jazz greats Ellington, Fitzgerald, Tito Puente and Herbie Hancock. Listen for music from them and many more on XM!

Benny Green born in New York in 1963 grew up in Berkley playing with Joe Henderson and Woody Shaw as a teenager. Michel Camilo, born in the Dominican Republic relocated to New York, and began to be noticed in 1979 after his tune "Why Not?" became a hit for the Manhattan Transfer and his tune "Caribe" entered the repertoire of Dizzy Gillespie.
