Hi guys,

Just found this forum! Looks like the best place I have seen to share jazz guitar info, playing tips, mp3s, etc....

I see a bunch of familiar names here too!

I'll have a busy day reading all the posts! I hope I can find time to contribute a bunch!

I have not been playing nearly enough straight ahead for the last several years.... I need to get back to it! Been somewhat fusion occupied. Twisted Evil

Hope to make some new friends and maybe find some guys to jam with in the Philly area.....

Oh, and a big thanks to Chris for the site! He is a superb player and an inspiration....

Scott

True, but I actually found this site when I was looking in my website control panel. I had a bunch of hits from here!

Nice to be here. What is your TGP username?

Scott

hi scott

just listened to some of your stuff here:

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=4919

i must say, you have a real odd sense of timing, sometimes... the first part of the first song it almost sounded like you're some beginner (was this on purpose?)

I think it is called playing behind the beat.... Whose time feel do you like? Just curious as to the foundation of your comment. I do completely intentionally play with time. That is pretty old track... I did not even remember having a soundclick site. Here is a newer version of 500 Miles. http://www.scottlernermusic.com/music/500mileshigh.mp3

Eh, time sounded fine to me! Expressive use of time, but certainly didn't sound sloppy or anything.

Hi Scott,

Welcome! I've heard and admired your playing before. Scott Jones had posted a couple of collaborations on another forum with you that were just great. In fact I recently posted a link to them on another thread somewhere on these forums. I actually like your sense of time quite a bit. I hope you stick around as I look forward to your contributions.

Paul

Welcome Scott,
I heard of you and I've been to your site, don't remember how I heard of you cause it was a long time ago but I think it had something to do with Baker guitars. I emailed you once about something, I don't remember what it was about but you asked me if I wanted your notes that you had taken and I remember thinking oh hell yes!! Anyways welcome.

Oh it's back up! Very Happy Over there I'm under Rockinrob. I tend to lurk more over there, aside from the occasional amplifier dicussion or Benson arguement with Tag. Cool So many forums, so little time...

Ok, I'll bite. This is the only music forum I frequent, what are the other good ones relating to jazz or jazz guitar? Good being qualified by % of posts that have interesting or informative content.

Hi Jake,

There are several great forums to check out, depending on what you are looking for.

My personal fave is http://www.thegearpage.net/board/ Many many top pros and builders hang there. You will always get great answers to your questions.

Both Scott Henderson and Robben Ford have great forums, but mainly for info regarding them and related topics.

http://www.online-discussion.com/RobbenFord/

http://www.online-discussion.com/ScottHenderson/

For discussion on rack mount gear and studio things, this place is a must

http://www.hugeracksinc.com/board/

Are you at Berklee Jake??

Scott
