So yeah, I'm new to the forums - and also pretty new to jazz guitar. I may also be one of the youngest ones here at only fifteen, but I'm extremely interested in jazz. I've been playing for about two years now, but normally played rock-esque music, and now I've been sucked in the world of jazz. I'm just glad I found a jazz forum (like everyone else has previously said as well). Very Happy

Welcome TSF, you will really love this place. There are a lot of knowledgeable and passionate posters here that you will learn from just by reading their posts. One of the things that I have liked about being a "lurker" is that I have seen a lot of questions that I wouldn't even have thought to have asked but learned from the answer anyway. There are also a lot of questions that just go right over my head too! It is encouraging that there are still young people being exposed and drawn to this type of music. Good luck, Brad

Oh god!
So many people here are pale, grey, four eyed computer geeks with jazz guitars.
I'm way too cool for this forum.

I guess the ultimate delimiter would be what came first? Pale grey wanker playing guitar in a bedroom with no life or a programmer being the exact same thing? Shocked

Actually, I'm not, despite how it sounds. I'm actually VERY athletic and play basketball and football regularly (I know, a guitarist that plays basketball?). I'm also tan, have long hair and have good vision. But I do have braces. Sad

But anyway, my old guitar teacher got me into jazz. Sort of. There was a point where he taught me jazz chords and introduced me to Steely Dan. After that, I worked my way up. I love the sound of jazz - it's just so melodic and relaxing. So yeah. Very Happy
