I used to frequent the Allan Holdsworth forum and I believe this is the same guy who went by an alias and soloed over the Ana Maria changes quite like Scott Henderson. I was surfing a bit today and I think I found out who he was just by listening to him play. I hope I'm right.

| Yeah that Scott Lerner is a real pro player, he's also a Berkeley Alumni, if that means anything to anyone. I don't know if Scott Jones is better or not but I do feel if Scott Lerner would lose some of that rock & roll edge on alot of his MP3's he'd go further, just my opinion. I don't much care for his tone but damn the kid can definetly play guitar and I guess he's very well connected to a few different sponsors, Baker Guitars, Fuchs Sound Systems or PA's or whatever they sell. I don't know either of these guys personally but I did email Scott Lerner around a year ago for some information and he gladly sent it to me plus he sent me MP3's by alot of other guitarists so he's allright in my book. |

I know Scott Lerner a little from a 'nother internet forum I frequent. I've also seen Scott Jones post in other forums as well, but haven't really talked with him directly.
I prefer Lerner's playing to Jones' on the couple of clips I've heard, but it's just a matter of taste. If he's the same guy that posted that clip I can't tell you, but I think a lot of those guys are big Scott Henderson fans.
Man, what's up with all the Scotts?! |

So many guitars so many Scotts. I can't follow this. I blame Berklee they must have being called Scott as an entrance requirement.
I know a jazz club where it seems you need to be called Andy in order to get a gig and it's run by a guy called Andy. |

Scott Lerner's a cool guy who lives by me. He's very friendly and always extends and invite for me to come over and jam. It's never worked out, but one of these days I'll get over there.
There's no use comparing Scotts. Lerner's not currently a pro (he works a f/t job outside of music and he's a father to an infant, so he's pretty busy outside of music). The other Scott, I'm pretty sure, is a f/t musician...and I think is a few years younger than the other Scott. I'm sure they have mutual respect and aren't into competitions with each other.
That having been said, they're both smokin' players. I wish I could play half as well as either of them.
Just my $0.02

Hi Guys,
I just joined up too!
Both Scotts (Jones and Lerner) are good friends of mine and both are killer players with different styles.
Two years ago we all hung out with the other Scott (Henderson) at NAMM.
Talk about weird - 3 scotts and 2 Henderson.
Lerner please share your triad approach and how you create those killer lines... _________________ www.online-discussion.com

Scott's a class act, so are quite a few guys here...you'll see. Check out some of Scott Jones, PaulD, Steve...the list goes on and on! Great stuff! _________________
