Guitar players can learn a lot by checking out the way pianists approach harmony, melody and rhythm. Compare Grant Greenís style of soloing with the style of Bill Evans and Charlie Parker. How is the phrasing, rhythmic and harmonic content different ?

Regarding these important aspects of improvisation i'd be interested to know if there is books or web sites that have done a study of these styles of soloing for a group of master players. For example, i'd like to know how Bill Evans address a ii-V-i cadence versus Joe Pass in terms of phrasing and rhythmic. Does anyone know if such a study have been done ?
