Man that was awesome. I'd like to hear his take on the theme from "Peanuts". He has an amazing talent. Hey, Eddie Van Halen and those guys never worried about being too serious, and they touched many with their music. I'm still a rocker and Igiro has a classical backround, so that's probably why it affects us different. Fun is good, especially when it's done so well. I'll bet Steve Vai would crap a brick over that. Thanks Bjorn, I'm glad you appreciate it.
Spare me the classical is better stuff , I don't want to apologize for still loving Van Halen. Eddie VH and Vai would have a tough time doing that, and those guys are sick talents, regardless of what you think of their music. Hell, Holdsworth would have a tough time with it too. kids gotta play piano.

I saw a couple of different ones just last week. My classical teacher showed a couple of videos to my 9yr old son, who was home 'sick' and therefore was travelling with me.
One kid on piano, and some guy on guitar, both playing the Mario theme.

3 things struck me as I watched the scene unfold. 1: my son was intrigued and amazed and pleased and inspired to sit at the piano, and play! If kids are inspired to play, does it matter what they play as long as they are enjoying it?
2:My teacher has played alot of Mario. as we're listening and watching, my teacher is saying, "now he's in the dungeon", "now he's going down the pipe".
So he is 12 years old? (he doesn't even have kids)

3: I am so old.

It should be fun. I mean there are like a zillion great guitarists out there studying at conservatories and all; so making a living at jazz guitar would be tough. Jazz is my passion, but I wouldn't want to forget that my soul is attached to that kid in the garage, (me), blasting out the neighborhood. It's nice to keep your true spirit alive no matter what music you play. Music is music, the more jazz I play the less I worry about genres. Anything can be jazz. Jazz seems more about approach than the type of song you play. Jazz can be allot of fun if you stay true to yourself and just jam (improvise). It's not classical music., but I love Classical also.
I'm so old that I was only vaguely familiar with the tune this kid played. I hate video games. The way he split his brain to play both parts was very impressive.

I really hear you when speaking of garrage-spirit Ed, as soon as yesterday I was watching an ''And justice for all'' clip from the ''Live and shit binge and purge'' tour.
I have allways loved Metallica, and I´ve thought about posting a clip ot two, but Im sure people would diss Kirk and I wouldn´t like that

Anyway, since this is a jazzguitarist forum, however its fun and all, its still critic that Mario for now has 7 replies, and kurt (in the post below) has 3... .............

Metallica!!, that makes my day, I'm a fan too. I saw them live about 6 times and met them a couple times. I was working at Jackson Guitars as a shipping clerk in 87'. Hammett came up and asked for a pickup and I mistook him for a guy in the christian band Stryper. He was offended I think. Another time I got backstage in 89', and accidentally wrote on Hetfield's arm with a sharpie. I slipped with the marker in my hand ,because me and a friend were messing around; Hetfield gave me the look of doom, he's a big guy in person. I was saddened to see that recent documentary where they had some wacko psychologist counseling them in the studio. Man times have changed. Still that raw rhythm they had was mesmorizing. Last time I saw them was a free concert in Philly in 97', it was madhouse; borderline riot, but fun as turds in a swimming pool. Ah the good ol' days.
