it's so hard for me to comment on this without getting political, so all i'll say is that my thoughts and prayers are with the families. as an educator, every time something like this happens i can't help but put myself in the situation, and when i do, i realize there's no way on earth i could ever wrap myself around the pain they must be feeling right now in blacksburg.

it was a sick and incomphrensible event..... it drives home the fact that terrible things happen to good people and nobody knows how long they have here on this crazy rock. live life to the fullest and make each day count. most of all, make sure that those you love know how much you love them!

yeah it's sad and senseless and awful...

now imagine that this sort of thing was happening every single day in this country, in every state of the country--innocent people being slaughtered, and yet nobody was able to do anything about it--not cops, not military, nobody.

pretty well sums up the situation in Iraq right now...

there are a lot of german students at this university too and a german prof. is dead now, a bad and sad thing....................
