I am playing twice this weekend (25th and 26th) in the Hague. The place is here:
http://www.deregentes.nl/agenda.php?PHPSESSID=df7dd8ca6e5caef6fe56b629acf28c77

It is a small bigband and a brass-ensemble so its 70 -80 people and I get to play REALLY LOUD in my solos Very Happy Very Happy ...

With my organ trio and a saxophone player friend we are playing in Dordrecht here:
http://www.caferestaurantmerz.nl/

on the 2nd of December at 17.00.

The repetoire is mostly own compositions and sort of soul/funk/jazz stuff with lots of odd-meter grooves and spacious improvisations. It is by the way also for free. If you are anyway in The Netherlands then feel free to drop by.

One of the pieces we play is 'Like That' which is also on my website.

The saxophone player is this guy:

Hope to see you,
Jens

Jens, Have you finished your recording project of folk tunes in jazz
setting yet? I would like very much to get a cd when you get it done.
Let me know how I can get one, and cost.
It sounds like something similar I worked on- with a jazz singer
who also is a translator in Chinese. We did jazz versions of Chinese
folk tunes. I did some of the arranging and played on it. It turned
out nicely. She sang in Chinese then in English, literal translations.
Interesting project

Jazzerchick,

We are recording the cd in two weeks and then I actually have no idea when it will be released but I'll make sure to let you know how to get it and how much it is etc. I am not even sure we can get it released yet though I think that when we have all the money to record and make a cover design etc that we will be able to.
I like the project too it is nice to let the two worlds meet (jazz and folk tunes). We already played two gigs with the material and they were very nice.
Thanks for the interest!
I'll try to keep you up to date.
Jens
