I know some of you are surprized I even go to english class, but I needed to write something for 8th grade english.

The one thing I hold dear.

I kneel by my pride and joy. Unseen by the world around. I observe the black case conceals the masterpiece. I remove the case from its protected hidden space. Grasped by the handle I lay it down gently on the floor, clear of all distractions. I unlock the worn gold hinges and laches. I slowley lift up the top of the case. I gasp at the magnificence. I take a moment to let the amazment seep in. I tip the instrument up by the neck, still in the case. My hand slides up to the headstock. I lift it slowley and carefully. I place it in my lap. My body conforms to the shape. My hands go to their rightful places and get acquainted with the strings. I slide my hand up and down the neck.

My mind is at peace.

Isn't it great when you find something that gives you so much joy. Still to this day I am weary of taking my gibson out of the case. I love it so much that I am almost scared of it. There are days where I just look it it. I don't play it, I just look at the one thing I am truely proud of. It stays in its case, and gets played at special times. People think I'm crazy that I don't play it.

Just knowing I have it makes me happy. I spend my days looking at music, thinking about improvising, going over songs in my head, and thinking about my guitars. I do it for fun. I take out my sheet music whenever I can and think abbout it. Everyone thinks I' such a nerd. I hum songs all the time. I close my eyes and try to think about the right chord or note. I tap my foot shake my hands on the beats in my head. I go in early to school to sit outside and just think about the music. I get there a few hours early and just watch life go by with a sound track in my head.

I'm just really happy right now. I don't about making it big anymore. I don't care about anything but the music. I sit in my room with my guitar and when I'm not I'm wishing I could.

Its 2:30 am and I'm listening to my jazz colection over and over again.

I just want to see what you think. I got my performance comming up, and I'm gona show up with all my real gear. Its going to be so much fun. I got a great guitar and amp. I got great music.

I think I'm just tired, but any of you just been like "really happy" about like life. I'm usually content, but lately I'm just really happy. I've been doing more with music and I think its aking a difference. I'm practicing more and listening more.

Morgan, I know exactly what you are saying. From my experience, it is something you never outgrow. I've been a lot of things and done a lot of things, but through it all the music never stopped. It is playing still... Very Happy

ok, in germany some make a schoolyear again, they start with 6 or 7 years so the age is different ..

kindergarten - maybe, maybe not

Elementary School
1th - 4th

Public Schools
5th - 9th, start working and other schools/business schools for 3 years

Middle Schools
5th - 10th, start working and other schools/business schools for 3 years, sometimes University

High Schools
5th - 12th , mostly University, some quit after the 10th go working and change the school

Private Schools
5th - 12th, the parents have to pay and you can stay in a dormitory

..... and if your parentīs dont put you to Middle, High or a Private School, the Teachers put you to Public School

How are the public schools? I know in some places public schools are really bad, and everyone who has money goes to private.

i think you canīt compare the school system, the most schools are halfetime schools here, that donīt mean you have more time, you get more homework and often you carry 6 kilo books around in your backpack, better to go with a bike to school than you musnīt carry them, music education have to be privat or you learn nothing
