If you're asking how the weather is it's actually been wonderful here the last couple days, up to 70 while the sun's out (pretty amazing for November). But it's all going to end tomorrow and it's supposed to snow Friday... Crying or Very sad

Paul D, Good to hear from you! We'll listen to your practice recordings
anytime.

Wow, Dewey, snow! I won't have to worry about that. It's 84 today here.
I'll still be playing outdoors most of the "winter".

nezumi, Playing's great. Staying very busy.

Hey hanni, I'm looking on utube! He he!

Hi folks. I've been away for a while trying to learn how to play guitar a little better in preparation for my "musical career" after I retire from my day job (we're talking in about 8-10 years, so lot of time for woodshedding left). So I've been taking private lessons again and have also enrolled in a jazz ensemble class, and while my playing hasn't improved all that much, my understanding and ability to apply certain things has, and I'm happy with the progress so far. I did miss all my friends here at the forum, but I really needed a break. Hope to be around a little more.

Paul

Hi Paul!

I was hoping someone would revive the 'tune of the month', and of course that got me thinking of you and your bookshelves.
It has always been a treat to listen to you play, paul.

I'm still on dial-up out here but I also have bald eagles in the front yard so I'm not complaining.
I go to my Mom's in the city and listen/watch 'tune of the month' and Youtube there.

I can't say I know him well, but my guess is likely not other than maybe the occasional peek in.

I've been getting kicked back email notifications to Ed Norton all the sudden lately too. Either something went wrong or someone cut is cable. I dunno?

Thanks, Paul

Every year I am amazed at how incredibly huge the eagles are.
A family w/ 2 juveniles scavenges salmon from the river every fall.

My guitar desk is under a set of front windows, so i can look out onto the frontyard and river when i play.

I wonder if Mr.B is around?
I know it's old school to have a crush on a high school teacher, but still..... Cool

Well, it's only been a few weeks, but I haven't been logging in because, 1) I've been preoccupied, but 2) my computer done did up and broke down on me. It's simply a goner, the Geek said. Planned obsolescence and all, don't you know. But, fortunately the hard drive is apparently OK. I'm going to pick it up tomorrow and the Geek told me I can get one of these USB enclosure adaptor things for it to effectively make it an external HD. Whew.

In the meantime I've got a temporary loaner as I look for a cheap used Mac. May go the ebay route; a cursory look at the completed listings seemed to indicate some good deals on satisfactory ones. (My last was a 2002 "sno," the last of the all-in-one CRT's, I think, and that met my needs. Wouldn't want to go worse, but don't really need much better either.)

That is, unless anyone has any good ideas of a source for cheap used Macs? I mean cheap, sonny.

Anyhoo, that was my status, in case anyone was wondering.

Generic, Glad you're back. Don't you just hate electronics sometime.
Good luck with your search.

Hanni, don't stay away too long. Check in once in a while.
