I'd really like to hear more guitar players who also sing, like John Pizzarelli, or Whit Smith, do you guys have any suggestions? Question

No other suggestions? I guess it's just me. I like tunes with vocals, it helps me follow the melody, but at the same time I like a good guitar solo. I'm really impressed by players who sing because I'm the worst singer on earth.

Did you know that Kenny Burrell sings? I think he has a vocal or two
on some of his recordings.

Kenny Burrell???? I've got a ton of his stuff and I've never heard vocals, but I'm fairly certain anything that he does is outstanding. Freddie Green, are we talking the Mr. Rhythm Freddie Green? Another shocker. Any idea on which albums?

Freddie sings several blues tracks with Basie's big band and small group on various outings. He's not what you'd consider to be a good singer I don't think, but as far as the blues goes he gets the message across pretty clearly.

I can't remember the exact tracks

sync, Kenny Burrell sings great. I heard him live a few years ago and he did some singing. He does ballads.

There are vocals on these albums: BlueMuse
Lucky so and so
75th Birthday Bash
Moten swing
There might be others,also.

Check out Bireli Lagrene on the Sinatra tribute album "Blue Eyes". He does a great job on tunes like "Lady is a tramp", "My kind of town (Chicago)", and "Luck be a Lady". He also does some very cool scatting and a little Benson-esque singing his lines on it.

Here's Bireli doing "You Make Me Feel So Young." Interesting.

I can't hear someone do Sinatra tunes without hearing Joe Piscapo's impersonation, though! Ouch!
