It is our first crack at it so be kind.
I hogged the comping only because I have yet to be able figure out how to use my recording device to its fullest.
Anyway...hope you folks dig it.
THX Paul again for the invite...we'll have to try another soon.
...And who knows ... I may yet figure out how to import these tracks properly

Yeah! Great playing guys, loved it. Great tune too.
Hey trotsky How the hell do you get those beats happening in the ii v turnaround (Bm Bb7) leading into your solo? Is it a chorus effect? I'd love to be able to create that! Or is it the voicing? It sound like your playing Bm (1 7 3) to Bb7 (1 b7 3), and if this is so I can't understand how you get those crazy beats happening. _________________ Miles is the answer. |

Gene, the first guy sounds really good, but the second guy sounds like he's playing with a hurt finger
It was really fun doing this with you and I'm very much looking forward to more!
Steve, you and I still need to finish "Nica's Dream" someday! Hey, what about a trio?

Whatever Paul..you sound great....even gimped
Sometimes even when people are stumbling a bit there is a special kind of charm present....
And its a good thing because I stumble a lot!!!
Thanks JazzerChick. You are always so encouraging and that is much appreciated,...now will you come and shovel my driveway?
Steve...I am not exactly sure what you mean but it could be the voicings that I am using in that particular spot.
I play the 1 chord at the end of the tune with this voicing
CMA7
3rd finger on G at the 3rd fret
2nd Fg on E on the 2nd fret
4th fg on B on the 4th fret
1st fg on C on the 1st fret
Then I play,
B-7
3rd fg on B on the 7th fret
4th fg on A on the 7th fret
2nd fg on C# on the 6th fret
1st fg on the D on the 3rd fret
Then,
Bb7
3rd fg on Bb on the 6th fret
4th fg on Ab on the 6th fret
2nd fg on C on the 5th fret
1st fg on D on the 3rd fret (So lots of times this note will continue to ring from the top chord)
Then I resolved it to A-7 with the same voicing as the above B-7
I hope this is it and that it makes sense to you.
If not let me know and it wouldn't take me long to fire up a small utube hosted video clip.
These chords are common enough and I love them because they really rumble with the 9ths right next to the 3rds.
Yummy.
Gene

Nice morning starter for me, guys, thanks! Recording sounds good and the guitar tones are nice. Playing sounds good, too. What's not to like?
I never thought about it before, but there's one phrase in the melody that quite resembles the melody from Van Morrison's "Moondance." (FWIW.) |

Thx M.
Another great beautiful standard. I love these tunes. The melody is haunting. It is one of those ones that I catch myself humming and not even realizing it.
The lyrics are great too.
You'd be So Nice to Come Home to
You'd be so nice to come home to
You'd be so nice by the fire
While the breeze on high,
sang a lullaby
You'd be all that I could desire
Under stars chilled by the winter
Under an August moon burning above
You'd be so nice
You'd be paradise,
to come home to and love |

Paul that sounds like a fun idea. Give me a few weeks to get back into school work first (just come off summer hols) and I'll give it a bash.
Thanks trotsky for the voicings they are way hip, but I'll need to get used to the stretch! _________________ Miles is the answer. |

Those voicings are a stretch but they are easy once you get used to them and I certainly think they are worth the effort.
I aped them from a teacher at Humber College where I studied.
I had a great teacher there named Peter Harris who has since passed away.
Beautiful player from the Lenny Breau school.
Peters chord voicings were sublime and he was a helluva great guy as well. Way more than just a teacher. I owe a lot of my personal developement to him even outside of music.
Some of the best lessons I had with the man were the ones where we just talked. He really managed to get my head straight about a lot of things.
When the news of his untimely death reached my ears it just about broke my heart.
I hope he has found peace. |

That would be awesome Michael. Maybe we can even get a guitar ensemble thing going with multiple folks...

Hey Gene,
Is it possible to post just the backing track to your web site or here?
I have come up with an idea where all would be able to post their interpretation of the song. |

Thanks Gene
Here's my idea. We can post our music to a file sharing web site.
Create a chorded track of your tune. Upload it to the web site. It can then be downloaded and a solo added, with what ever equipment you use, and then uploaded for the next person to add to.
What does every one think?
I have created a trial at File Qube. If you would like to check it out, post me a message at my Profile and I'll give you the username and password.
The only possibe problem is that perhaps only one person can log on at a time. I'm not sure on that one.
