New Guy Alert!

I have played guitar most of my life but my preference has been toward rock and blues. The reason is rock and blues is easy and I understand it. Jazz is my much more cerebral and harder to comprehend. As I get older I find I am able to hear the chord progressions better and Jazz is starting to make sense. I watch videos and read books and that helps but now I have questions and that's where you guys come in. So have patience with the newbie. Thanks!
