WOW!! Shit, crazy man!! The most amazing thing by this clip, is that you can clearly hear the tune during the entire guitar solo.

Thanks for the link Andy.

Sure thing Michael! Pat certainly is swinging like a MOFO. I'm all stoked to transcribe some of his lines now. but I will surely need to consume extra helpings of caffiene first!! Wink

OK, I found a little bit of time so I started, and decided you approach was definitely better! I have only scratched the surface, but here is what I have so far. This is not from the beginning of the tune, but rather just from start of the solo exactly 1 minute into the video.

If you all notice any errors let me know....I will not take offense. I'll keep posting as I update this.

I think I need to upgrade from beer to something a bit harder Smile

Andy

I wonder if Metheny's brain works much faster than the average guitarist's brain.

Thanks Jake...will update the transcription to 324 BPM (yikes!!!).

The other thing I've noticed Pat does so amazingly well is he really seems to erase the bar line with his phrasing. It just sounds so darn hip to me and impresses the heck out of me, and I really want to be able to do that when I grow up (at a tempo for mere mortals that is). Laughing

Me thinks Pat does a ton of metronome practice, lots of different rhythmic stuff...but I could be wrong

He travels with a loop station in his guitar case.

And yeah he does a shit load of metronome practice. He's stated he wants to have Brecker's time.
