Hy guys, i learned lady bird... now i would like to start looking at lazy bird... i know coltrane wrote lazy bird starting froma lady bird applying tritone substitutions and backdoor progressions (iV#7 VII7b9 Imaj7) but i can't understand looking the 2 changes the relationship... and it's strange cause i can understand obviously the 2 standards are linked one to the other... could you help me? i think would be interesting for lot of people here a comparison measure by measure...

thanks!!

P.S. uff! Coltrane will make me crazy... Very Happy

I don't think they are related except for the similar title. Lazy Bird has a completely different form from Lady Bird. Maybe you should think of Lazy Bird as part of the history leading up to the Giant Steps cycles (With the Gmaj and Ebmaj) .

For the rest is harmonically connected to Moments notice with the ascending II-V's at the end of the A parts.

Jens is right. Half Nelson is fun though.
