Wow ...really outstanding.
Congrats on being such a wonderful player and composer.
I just returned home after a week of training that was so far removed from what I love that it left me kind of shell shocked.
Listening to your playing this morning has really helped bring me back and now I can't wait to pick up my guitar.
Thanks for the gift man

thanks gents.
I plan on recording some original tunes "for real" this summer-- guitar (sometimes doubletracked) bass and percussion. Everything I'm writing seems to have sort of a latin feel, so I want to do a whole collection of it... _________________ “For the guitar is the most unpredictable and least reliable musical instrument in existence...and also the sweetest, the warmest, the most delicate, whose melancholic voice awakes in our soul exquisite reveries.”

for crying out loud, i thought your name was mr beaumont! so who the heck is mr beaumont, LOL?
i listened to "villa mandarinas" and i find your chord changes odd -- which means that i like them very much! nice tune!
so, which came first -- the chords or the melody? |

mr. beaumont's an internet handle I've used for too long to get away from now, really...It was actually the name of my college electronic music project, beaumont music, which was dedicated to two fictional characters--Jeffrey Beaumont, Kyle MacLachlan's character in David Lynch's "Blue Velvet," and to Mr. Ward Cleaver, played by actor (and later pastor) Hugh Beaumont.
All intended to be nonsensical, of course. You know how college kids are.
Anyway, Villa Mandarinas-- The chords that made up the beginning part of the A section came first (basically a Bm11 sound and then an A dominant sound) and I played around with those for weeks before anything else came to me.
The rest of the song was "melody first." _________________ “For the guitar is the most unpredictable and least reliable musical instrument in existence...and also the sweetest, the warmest, the most delicate, whose melancholic voice awakes in our soul exquisite reveries.”

| New here...this is outstanding. You have a broad understanding of the guitar and quite an impressive set of chops there, sir. This has everything going for it. Variation, tone, creativity, and a great REC. Is it D/I or a mic/amp combo? |

thanks jazzfix,
The backing guitar was recorded direct (it's a yamaha silent nylon) and the lead guitar was a hofner verythin thru a henriksen jazzamp with a redstone speaker cab, a good old SM-57 a bit off the grille. _________________ “For the guitar is the most unpredictable and least reliable musical instrument in existence...and also the sweetest, the warmest, the most delicate, whose melancholic voice awakes in our soul exquisite reveries.”

Nice.
I checked out your Days of Wine and Roses and loved it!!
i'm listening to it a second time as I type. Love the tone, love the dynamics, LOVE the expression and passion, and great feel. Top marks for this one. _________________ Miles is the answer. |

I gotta hang out here more, I hadn't even seen you had posted about that! I like to thank folks where it's due (when it's due) so sorry for the delay on the reply. _________________ “For the guitar is the most unpredictable and least reliable musical instrument in existence...and also the sweetest, the warmest, the most delicate, whose melancholic voice awakes in our soul exquisite reveries.”
