Here is an attempt at an old tune that I love to play
http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=10709564&q=hi&newref=1
You may have to turn it up at bit.
I don't know what is the dealio with the levels... I am trying to remember how to use my recording unit...and struggling Rolling Eyes
This is my guitar with the new lollar low wind Imperial with a slight bit of Strymon elcapistan echo straight in to my Boss recorder.
Sounds better live with the acoustic properties of the semi hollow but this gets you an idea of my current sound which I am pretty happy with.
Now if I could only learn how to play!!!!
Sorry about the sour notes but I just went for it in between domestic duties.

Gene

Great playing Gene! Really enjoyed it and just loved your tone. I had to go back for a second listen as well.

Thx a bunch.
I am just crazy about that HB pickup...especially the low end.
I think it really sounds good.
As for the playing...I'm trying.
I find my playing to be kind of tight when it is being recorded. Hard to loosen up and just relax.
Thanks for listening.

Gene

Jazzy--BTW..did you ever solve you El Capistan woes??

Gene,

Great tune, great tone, great playing. Say, what was your signal chain? [Sorry...you described the signal nicely in your post.]

Yah
Just my semi hollow Carter with the new Lollar Lo-wind into the el Cap.
I was trying to demo the tape echo effect that I have added to my sound in a Jazz context.
It came off so subtle that the demo is useless really. It sounded way more pronounced in the headphones so I dialed it back a bit.
Sounds way better in the real world...into my real amp which is the Fender Deluxe RI with the wine red tolex and the alnico speaker.
Not as nice as my buddies actual Black Face but still a very musical sound to my ear.
I am still considering adding another amp and running stereo...can't wait to hear how that sounds....but I get the impression my wife can Wink

Sounds awesome Gene. Love the voice leading and comping especially, sounds real cohesive to my ears.

Thanks a ton Jake that means a lot coming from guys like yourself.
I have a renewed interest in the guitar lately and I am really enjoying it again. It is just about all I think about these days and I haven't felt that way since college.
I am remembering just what a cool instrument the guitar is Cool

That makes me smile...I've been devoting quite a lot of time as well. I'm on my phone right now so I can't bring up that great "secret to life" scene from city slickers. Worth checking out

Hi, I'm new and his is my first post although I've been lurking for a long time. Just want to say how much I enjoyed your playing. Great tone and phrasing. Just excellent. Don't know how many times I listened to it - several - actually I'm listening to your other recordings as I type.
