I'm designing new business cards and I was struggling with how to succinctly phrase the text on mine so that it's just a line or a few words, rather than a paragraph.
I want it to communicate the following, in this order:
1. I am a guitarist for hire
2. I can organize jazz duo/trio/quartet etc for your private party or function
3. I give guitar lessons
I guess #1 and #3 get covered by simply writing "Guitarist and Instructor" but how to succinctly phrase #2 is tougher.
Any ideas? What does yours say? _________________ "Inspiration may be a form of superconsciousness, or perhaps of subconciousness - I wouldn't know. But I am sure that it is the antithesis of self-consciousness." - Aaron Copland |

One idea is to make a couple of different cards. If you're printing them yourself this is easy. A card for lessons. A card for gigs. A card for musicians who might hire you.
Or all on one. I haven't thought of phraseology but I don't think you need to state duo/trio/quartet. That's way too detailed. Most people interested in hiring a jazz group might not know enough. They just want music. Their concern is price and space and perhaps volume. You can discuss the details with them later.
"Provide music for all occasions", or something like that. _________________ All the best,

It sounds like you're looking for more of an informational card (advertising, services..etc) vs a reference card (contact information...etc)? With that in mind what I've seen work pretty well is actually using the back of the card as well as the front. Front mostly reference and back informational. Some thoughts.
For the sake of organization, I moved this thread up to the hangout area. _________________
