Hi guys, Need some help !

I have to replace the fingerboard binding of my Gibson L5 CES (w/small b/w with position marks).
Any idea where I can purchase/order a complete version of this type of binding; if possible the orginal or good quality replica ?

Thanx

Rookie,

The vast majority of the time (if at all frankly) binding does not come with position markers predone. Mostly because it's a bulk stock where markers would be inlaid after the binding was set.

I honestly don't know if the binding on the L5 is inlaid or simply painted on dots. Very possible it is inlaid.

Regardless, I use stewmac.com for my building supplies who carries an array of bindings. However, I don't have a direct recommendation on someone to do this work, maybe some else here does?

Thanks for your reply Gorecki.
The L5 binding markers are not painted but inlaid.
It would be great if I could buy a prefabricated basic white with small black line binding. The inlay of the position markers isn't the hardest part of the job.

Like I said I suspect that'll be difficult because of a multitude of possiblities when it comes to scale length, positioning errors and desired estetics. I haven't seen a premade version (could exist though) likely because it's too specific of a product to be volumn distributed. Confused
