Hey!. My names Steve (the user name gives it away) I think i had joined this forum a while ago, but i can't remember very well. I've been playing Metal for as long as i've been playing guitar (9 years) but over the past year or so, i've been having more and more interest in Jazz. Some artists i listen to are Charlie Parker, Charlie Hunter, Pat Metheny (probably spelt his last name wrong, haha), Frank Gambale and Yngwie Malmsteen (just kidding ). I hope to gain more knowledge of the Jazz guitarists you listen to and to gain knowledge on how to actually play Jazz, as i pretty much have absolutly no clue how to (i have a very very basic idea). Metal for me is alot of fun to play, but i feel very limited with my playing so i've been wanting to widen my horizons and Jazz feels like a good stepping stone to break out of the one dimensional metal mould.
Here's a quick break down of the gear i use:
PRS Standard 24 (very nice 1990 model, apparently the one of the best)
Fender Stratocaster
Ibanez RG
Warmoth Mockingbird
Ibanez 7 string
Jackson RR3
ADA MP-1 (very nice clean and overdriven tones)
Peavey Classic Power amp
Marshall cab and Peavey Cab.
Since i got my PRS a couple of weeks ago, it's all i've been playing, the clean tone is just beyond great. Very fat and full tone with loads of body and with overdrive it still sounds fat and smooth with a touch of bite when using the bridge pickup.
So again, hello to every one and i hope i get to know some of you |
